Proms in the Park

As part of Limerick City of Culture, the Defence Forces delivered Proms in the Park to the people of the city; an open-air concert in Limerick's People's Park.
The concert was planned to suit a variety of music-lovers, showcasing jazz and classical, as well as movie scores from some of Hollywood's best-loved movies.

Unfortunately, as you can tell by the photos, the event was a bit of a washout. The steady shower of rain descended until the interval, at which point many people took the opportunity to ditch the park in favour of a drier location. A shame for the committee who planned the event; you just can't trust the Irish summer.

I was wearing this beautiful tartan midi skirt from Penneys, as I planned to take the outfit from day to night.

And that I did. We hit Costello's for a few beverages later on in the evening with good company. Beer-pong was played (probably not the classiest game I have ever played, but I'm going to be honest with you here).

The night ended with a nice cup of tea and a taxi ride to my warm and welcoming home. As Derve would say (albeit sometimes in a very tongue-in-cheek manner), all's well that ends well.
